Last month, lululemon concluded its fifth annual Summer Sweat Games in China Mainland with a grand finale hosted in Chengdu’s iconic Eastern Suburb Memory. The cultural landmark was transformed into a vibrant ‘Sweat Avenue,’ drawing more than 3,000 participants. The event featured World Champion swimmer Wang Shun, who presented the trophy to the winning team, Eight-level Gale Force.

First introduced in 2021, lululemon’s Summer Sweat Games have become a hallmark event in China Mainland, designed to inspire movement, connection and joy. This year marked the first time the national finals were held in Chengdu, a city celebrated for both its cultural and sporting heritage, providing the perfect backdrop for the Summer Sweat Games final stage.

To bring the local culture to life, lululemon integrated Sichuan traditions and everyday staples into the competition including Biandan (carrying pole), Zhenglong (food steamer), and Mahjong (table game) — all reimagined as part of the sweat challenges. Guests also experienced elements of the Sichuan culture such as the bamboo cane crafts, and even had the chance to try Faustball, a World Games sport, creating a unique blend of Eastern and Western athletic traditions.

Throughout the day, lululemon Ambassadors led a variety of classes — from a Bashi stretch (a nod to the Sichuan dialect for “comfortable”) to breathwork to Tactical Barbell. Each session was designed to celebrate community while infusing local character into the movement experience.

Fresh from his role as the flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Chengdu World Games, Wang Shun joined in on a few challenges as he tried his hand at Korfball and American Football, in addition to teaming up with his former teammate and lululemon Ambassador Wang Jian for the signature “Ball Turning the World” challenge.

“I’m honored to be back in Chengdu and to witness the successful conclusion of this year’s Summer Sweat Games,” said Wang Shun, Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer. “From athletes competing side-by-side, to the laughter and encouragement around Sweat Avenue, this event truly embodies the spirit of the lululemon community. I can’t wait to see everyone again next summer at the Summer Sweat Games!”

The 2025 lululemon Summer Sweat Games spanned 42 cities across China Mainland, drawing nearly 6,000 registered participants and engaging over 16,000 guests nationwide, making it the largest Games yet.
