We aim to optimize the use of packaging in our supply chain.

We seek to follow our Sustainable Packaging Principles, which support improved design and sourcing decisions. These principles outline our aim to work with suppliers that can provide preferred packaging materials, including those that include certified sources (e.g., Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Global Recycled Standard, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or contain at least 30% recycled content.

Packaging

Plastic Packaging

To reach our goal of reducing single-use plastic packaging per unit by 50%, we're focusing on reducing packaging throughout our supply chain.

We are a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC). The SPC is a program of the non-profit GreenBlue, a membership-based collaborative that brings stakeholders together to improve packaging sustainability.

Recycling

Product Recycling

Through internal initiatives and strong partnerships, over 90% of our damaged and excess products are resold, donated, or recycled.

Currently, our primary solution for recycling apparel is downcycling, where clothes are shredded and turned into insulation or stuffing for car seats.

In North America, our yoga mats are recycled into an equestrian footing product called ReitenRight, a small percentage of hard-to-recycle items are sent to a waste-to-energy facility that generates electricity.

We are also engaging in innovative recycling trials to support a more circular economy, including textile-to-textile recycling. We are working to scale these pilot initiatives with external partners.

Recycling at Distribution Centres

Our North American DCs use TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency), a zero-waste certification program. We are working toward having all North American DCs third-party zero-waste certified.
