lululemon collaborates with renowned actress and fitness enthusiast Yao Chen to share The SweatLife with communities across China.
Yao Chen is a keen boxer and advocate for pursuing an active, mindful lifestyle - as well as a guest of lululemon in China. Her positive social impact and personal philosophy make her a natural partner for lululemon, the brand dedicated to creating transformational products and experiences that empower people to live a life they love.
To kick-off the partnership, in April 2018 lululemon and Yao Chen launched a seasonal collection of white prints and styles designed to support the sweatiest of boxing sessions. The Free To Be *Wild Bra in Luxtreme® fabric is cool to the touch and fits like a second skin, while The Wunder Under Low-Rise Tight is engineered to feel like a comfortable embrace, with both four-way stretch and support where it’s needed most.
The new collection was put to the test during an experience in partnership with Tmall on April 14th. 300 guests from the community in Shanghai gathered for a boxing lesson led by Yao Chen – in addition to a further 140,000 via livestream – to discover the technical design of the collection and connect, have fun and sweat together.
lululemon first entered the Chinese market with a showroom in 2013, and now operates more than 16 stores in Greater China, including locations in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.
