On February 10, many Asian communities across the globe will come together to welcome the Year of the Dragon in a 15-day celebration beginning on the evening of the new moon and ending on the first full moon of the lunar calendar.
In this auspicious year, the Year of the Dragon unfurls its wings, symbolizing strength, courage, compassion, and good fortune. As communities come together to embrace the Year of the Dragon with anticipation, lululemon is proud to be part of the global celebration.
“This is a special time for many of us in the Asian community, a time where families and communities gather to celebrate the new year and the arrival of Spring,” said San Yan Ng, lululemon Senior Vice President, China. “I am filled with joy and gratitude as we come together, both inside and outside of lululemon, to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.”
This year, lululemon is recognizing the Year of the Dragon through product, community initiatives, and internal activations across the company’s global markets. From employee-led fireside chats exploring Asian heritage in North America to Mindful Wing Chun sweat sessions in our Asia Pacific region, lululemon joins the celebration with its collective to commemorate the culture and spirit as a whole.
Year of the Dragon Product Capsule Collection
lululemon’s Year of the Dragon product capsule collection draws inspiration from the sunrise and sunset, the overlapping scales of the dragon, and classical Chinese architecture elements, with design collaboration from members of the community.
“Cultural relevance is at the forefront of our inclusive design process, and for the Year of the Dragon, we wanted to capture the dragon’s essence by showcasing a powerful year brimming with new possibilities,” said Shawn Ferrer, lululemon Senior Color Concept Designer. “Across color, print, and graphics, the team aspired to embody the characteristics of strength, honor, and courage throughout the collection.”
